Playdates

For some reason we had three playdates in a week. The weather was spectacular and we had such a great time with friends for all different areas of our life. Our first playdate was with Asher, a friend from church.

Asher and Petra hiding

Favorite part of this picture? Asher feeding Haley her sippy cup.

Then we met up with Emi and Kenzi, who we know from Kinderswimmer. The teeter totter was a huge hit!

Then again, so were the swings. Look at Emi pushing Kenzi - she's getting so big!

JT must have felt outnumbered by the women because he found some boys his age and spent some time with them instead. :) I'm glad he's friendly!

This is one of my all-time favorite pictures of both my children together. I also love how it happened.... me: "Stand with to your sister, JT, I want a quick picture." So he does. And Haley moves away, just a step or so, so they're not touching anymore. JT moves closer again, and she moves away. This continues until they are a full yard away from where they started, and she is getting annoyed and he is looking at me like, See, I'm doing what you told me to do! I finally had to intervene: "Haley, stand still. JT, don't touch your sister. Just stand near her." When I said to smile, this is what they did.

Next we met up with Asher, Abby, Gracie, and Tyson (oops, and Aren, but he's too little to play), who we get to see the most often because we see them at workout and at their own houses for dinner sometimes. :) We ate lunch and played and ran through the woods with sticks. Well, I didn't run with a stick. I followed around six children while pushing a stroller. And I thought, how did this happen? When did I become the mom pushing an empty stroller full of sippy cups and jackets and sunscreen while I shout things like, "Stay out of the lake!"?

Haley's favorite, still: the slide

We're Moving!

Less than two months ago, we were leaving my parents' house in Port Orchard to go ski and Jim joked, "Hey, we could move to that house," as he pointed to the house across the street. We have joked about moving back to Port Orchard after 18 years away for quite some time, because most of our family lives there and our favorite ski lake is there. We've never been serious. Then we found out that the house was going to be for sale, but hadn't been listed yet, so it was kind of for sale by owner. So we toured the house and... we loved it. Then we found out that we could possibly sell our house for enough to make sense financially. So we made the owners of the Port Orchard house an offer and... they accepted. Then we spent a week making our house ready to sell before we left for ten days of camping. So we listed our house while we were gone and... it sold. We looked at each other and said, "Are we really moving to Port Orchard?" Because we really, really ...

Our little arrival!

We are pleased to announce the arrival of JT (John Taylor) Keene, born at 1:13 AM on Tuesday, July 15th. He was 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 21 inches long. Everyone is happy and healthy!

34 Weeks

We had our 34-week baby checkup yesterday and all is well. Five weeks to go! I spent the entire time at Banks Lake in a bikini because it was too hot for modesty. :) My sister-in-law took this picture to document Haley's "first trip" to Banks Lake. A few weeks ago I took one afternoon to do a canvas painting for Haley's room to match her cute Pottery Barn valance and bedding. In the picture, the valance is above and my painting is below. I can't wait to hang it up in her room! I ordered the crib yesterday and it should arrive next week.
